Little Rock Ark. Nov. 25th 1865. Missouri and Arkansas, Brig. Genl J. W. Sprague, Asst. Comr. Forwards "Approved" Requisitions of Rev. Wm. A. Adams Supt. Ft. Scott, for Qrs. & states that Mr. A. receives no pay for his services, & if Govt. can furnish him qrs. at Ft. Scott with little expense, thinks it would be well to do so. Also state that but two officers are now on duty in the Bureau in Mo. under pay from Govt. & 4 not receiving pay, & thinks they are doing much good in aiding establishment of Schools &c. Also, encloses Mr. A's letter. (3 enclosures) [[stamp]] BUREAU R. F. & A L WASHINGTON REC'D DEC 9 1865 [[/stamp]] Respy refd to Capt Brown A.Q.M. for remarks. By order Max Woodhull AAG E & M. p. 121 Dec 12th 65. Quartermaster Dept Bureau of R. F. & A. L. Washington Dec 14th 1865 Respectfully returned to Col. Max Woodhull A.A.G. The Quartermaster General informs me "that Quarters cannot be furnished to the Agents of the Bureau by the Qr. Mr. Dept." If there are any buildings at Fort Scott not in use, they will without doubt be turned over to the Bureau on requisition as in other cases J. M. Brown Capt & A.Q.M. E & M p. 122
