Transcription
Amnesty Oath under Proclamation of the President of the United States dated May 29th 1865. Helena Ark Octor. 11th 1865. I TJ Barrett of Livingston County State of Kentucky do solemnly swear, in the presence of Almighty God that I will henceforth faithfully support protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Union of States thereunder: and that I will in like manner, abide by and faithfully support all laws and proclamations which have been made during the existing rebellion with reference to the emancipation of Slaves - So help me God! Thomas J Barrett (seal) Subscribed and sworn to before me this 11th day of Oct. 1865 Mr. H. C. Jacques. 1st Lieut. & Actg Bv Mar. Post of Helena Arks. State of Arkansas County of Phillips} ss. I AB Schrader Clerk of the Circuit Court within and for the County of Phillips aforesaid do hereby Certify that the above and foregoing is a true and correct copy of the Original Oath as the same is presented to this office for verification in testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand as Clerk aforesaid and affixed the seal of said Court at my office in Helena this 8th day of Novr. 1865 AB Schroder Clerk [[postage stamp]] Five Cents Inter.Revenue Certificate [[/postage stamp]]
