OFFICIAL OATH.

I, John H. Scroggins having been, by Brig. Gen. J. W. Sprague, Assistant Commissioner of the Bureau Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, appointed superintendent of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, and and having signified my acceptance of said appointment, Do Solemnly Swear that I will administer the duties of Superintendent of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, according to the orders and instructions of the Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner of the Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands. So help me God.
