Transcription
Amnesty oath, under Proclamation of the President of the United States, dated May 29th, 1865 Fayetteville Ark, Aug 4th, 1865. I James D. Henry of Washington County, State of Arkansas, do solemnly swear, in the presence of Almighty God, that I will henceforth faithfully support, protect and defend the Constitution of the United Sates, and the Union of States Thereunder; and that I will in like manner, abide by and faithfully support all laws and proclamations which have been made during the existing rebellion, with reference to the emancipation of slaves === so help me God. J.D.Henry [[note?]] seal [[/note?]] Sworn to and subscribes before me, this 4 day of August 1865. (On Duplicate) William S. Woodbridge Pro. Mar. Post of Fayetteville Ark. State of Arkansas County of Washington I George W. M. Reed as Clerk of the Circuit Court and Ex offices Recorder within and for the County of Washington Arkansas do hereby certify the above and foregoing is a true and complete copy of James D.
