And at the same place also appeared John D. Sammonds who being duly sworn to testify the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth in regard to the matters aforesaid, deposes as follows to wit

I know Hogg. Have known him a long time. He has a good character and is a benevolent good man  I know Dick  I was told that he cut Mr O. Brien sills & saw them after they were cut  Dick is a very bad negro

Further deponent saith not.
