Mr. Guy de Charnace,
6 Rue de Lisbonnne,
Paris (XVII) France.

Dear Mr. de Charnace:

It is now some time since my very pleasent visit with you in Paris and it has been my intention to again call upon you when I would be in Europe this month. However my sailing has been put off until later and so I have decided to write you a few words to ask whether there is any change in the situation regarding the drawings by Ingres and Chasserieau about which we talked.

The friend who asked me to inquire of you at that time is still very much interested and, in fact, has brought the matter up within the recent days, which prompts me to hope that you and your family could be persuaded to discuss them.

It so happens that I have a friend who has just flown to Europe and he will be by now at the Hotel Ritz. I rely entirely on his judgement and would agree to any arrangement you and he might arrive at in regard to the amount necessary to complete a purchase. He is at the Hotel Ritz, Place Vendome, Paris and as I am sending him a copy of this note, would be glad to talk with you. His name is Mr. Germain Seligman of New York and I shall ask him to find time to telephone to you at your office.

I had a brief chat with Noel Menod at the United Nations and told him that I would be writing you. He asked me to convey his kindest regards which I now join with my own to your father and yourself.

Sincerely yours,

John J. Cunningham
