Dear Germain:

At long last , the copy of Mr. Matheson's letter to Mr. Russell M. Porter, 64 bis Rue de Monceau (is not that a rather odd address? or if near the Parc, this may be his HOME address from which he conducts his [[underline]] extra curricular [[//underline]] activities?) and so I hasten to send it on, with a c.c. of my note to him which I have kept [[underline]] free from detail, [[//underline]] as you see. I am wondering whether the picture of which you know, is still in the dealer's gallery where you saw it some two years ago? Also may I recall hearing that the Count de Paris was mentioned.......?

Noel. M. is in Paris at his mother's apartment, until 23d. June. It occurs to me that if you have no word from Charnace, perhaps in some roundabout way, Noel could establish contact for you with C. He is C/o Mmm. O. Monod, 115 Notre Dame de Champs Paris 6. Later at [[underline]] RIOZ [[/underline]] c/o J.M.Jeanneney (his Brother-in-law) in Haute-Saone. This is merely informative. (Noel is always full of ideas, always seeing things of interest, etc.)

No special news here, but weather has been insufferable, with, as the Weather Boys say, DISCOMFORT INDEX 80 to 90. I plan to be in Glens Falls, 6 Fort Amherst Road, for a few days until the heat wave passes...several days here have been 91, and that's bad. I hope that you have been comfortable and that things are not too tiresome and tiring for you.

I would be glad to know sometime how the London picture is progressing and especially how you feel about it as against the date of purchase??? And I can hardly wait to hear the result of your visit, if any, with Mr. Porter.

Were you to encounter my old friend, A. O'G. now living at 23 rue Desbordes Valmore (XVIme) TRO 6411 I think, pray remember me.

All kindest regards, cher monsieur

Sincerely
