[[underline]] TRUSTEE DEPARTMENT [[/underline]] ^[[copy]]

WRL.12.

21st September 1946

Sirs,

[[underline]] The late Viscount Rothermere. [[/underline]]

With reference to your letter of the 29th july last, we beg to inform you that we have now come to a decision in the matter of the disposal of the late Viscount Rothermere's pictures, and seven of these recently received in this country from Hungary will be offered for sale by auction by Messrs Christie, Manson & Woods shortly. No doubt, if you are interested, you will arrange with them for you to be supplied with a catalogue.

The Corneille de Lyon is among these which are still with the american 3rd Army in Munich, and this will be also offered by Messrs. CHRISTIE for sale by auction after its safe arrival here with the other pictures.

The Guardi's were specifically bequeathed by the deceased, and it has not yet been decided whether the executors can sell them or not.

     We are,

     Sirs,

     Your most obedient Servants,

Messrs. Arnold Seligmann % Fils
23 Place Vendome
Paris.
