Dear Sir Alec,

It was so good of you to have given me the opportunity of meeting your friends, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Chance. Mrs. Seligman and I were happy to have them at home for cocktails last week and yesterday I enjoyed his company at luncheon.

As a result of this last visit, I will be sending to you within the next couple of days a gouache by J. B. MALLET (French XVIII century). It belongs to a friend of mine who wishes to part with it and I thought that you would probably be able to obtain a satisfactory price for it.

As regards the XVI century drawings I wrote to you about a few weeks ago, I explained to Peter Chance that there was nothing further I could do about them at present, the matter resting entirely with my friends and clients, who promised to reach a decision within the coming few daus and post me accordingly.

In your last note you mentioned you were laid up with the flu and I do hope that by now you have completely recovered from it.

With kind regards,

Sincerely yours,

Germain Seligman
