There is increasing care for the very young, which brings down disease and mortality rates. These nursery school children are getting their spoonful of cod-liver oil.

We stay longer in school. Ten years ago only 26.6 percent of the children went beyond the fourth grade. Now that figure has been raised to 37.5 percent.

And we increase our knowledge of the world by going to school more days a year. Ten years ago we attended an average of 97 days; now we attend 126 days.
