Monday, Dec. 6.

Dear Buster,

The last time I wrote we were at Chevy Chase while Ed & Joy were away. I remember how your folks came after us to go to your place for ice cream and cake on Erwin's birthday and going over he was going to take us a new short route thru Rock Creek Park and we got all mixed up in the roads. It turned out to be the longest short route I ever traveled, but coming home he proved he did know a short cut. Erwin received wearing apparel from everyone. I gave him a blue tie with black & white figures in it.

Ed & Joy came home the end of that week because school started the 20th of Sept. and Joy wanted to get established. She got in the Emory School where I went for awhile when we lived on Fla. Ave. Ned is registered there too. They still have that enormous white woman. She comes every morning & goes home at night - staying overnight on Fridays till Saturday at noon and returning again Monday morning. The baby seems to thrive.

Barbara had a birthday too, later on.
