that he got on his last trip to Northern Greenland. He was looking trim and was just the same as ever. Mr. Prebble was here when he arrived and I was surprised to find that they were such intimate friends.

Dr. & Mrs. Fish are here on U.S.B.F. business and last evening Miss Rathbun had them and me to dinner. Needless to say we had a delightful evening and a fine dinner. Dr. F. said that Beebe knows now what Miss B. is and is on his guard. She is supposed now to have finished his crustacea as Beebe has gone to Haiti, but as usual no one really knows anything about her as yesterday she wrote to the Museum for the loan of a specimen of [[unerline]]Pagurus purpuratus[[/underline]] from the Galapagos. Fortunately we did not have any specimens so we avoided any trouble very easily this time. I would not be surprised to see her pop into the office at any time.

Miss Deichmann is with us for a while. Cause for the holidays with a week's extra leave. The college gives her credit for all the work she is doing and has done on holothurians. She is just the same as ever - the coming summer she wants if possible to go to Beaufort. Fortunately Hildebrand is here now and he will come in and talk it over with her.

Everything here is moving along pretty much as usual except we are swamped with work, but it does not worry me as I do what I can and what I can't will have to go for some future time.
