Dear Waldo - 

Your letter was received not long ago and needless to say we had waited for it very anxiously. Mrs. Schmitt had already brought to the office the first instalment of your journal and the beautiful pictures of Rio. When I say the first instalment I mean the first she received which was that portion from page 55-90. I believe she has since received the first portion but I have not seen it. I am glad everything seems to be going well with you even if you can not progress as rapidly has you had hoped. It is one thing to make plans and another to be able to carry them out. Your Tortugas material has all been sorted and accessioned so that we will look with great interest for the arrival of your two cases and will go right to work on them. I am delighted
