Detroit, Nov 21, 1928 Dr. Waldo L. Schmitt. Dear Sir, I read your story about the Juan Ferandez Islands and I am writing you for some information in reference to just what clothes a man would have to take there and what it would cost to go there. [[squiggly line]] I am a young man of 28 years, have been a musician for 10 years, have had an accident and lost most of my hearing, and I can't stand cold weather and cant work on the inside have some money and the way you told your story the Islands sure appeal to me. I would like to have all the information you can give me, can you buy a small cottage there? and can a man find a wife? there, are there any girls a man can mate with. I hope this letter wont take much of your time and I sure would be obliged to you for this information. Thanking you I remain Yours Truly Edward Williams 46 La Belle Ave Detroit, Mich.
