My dear Mr. Schmitt:

As I have not been able to make myself understood by telephone I am sending you these few words just to tell you that for [[underlined]]tomorrow Fryday[[/underlined]] I have made arrangements with the Hotel de Castillo (anexo [[underlined]]Palermo[[/underlined]]) in order to have our breakfast there at 12 o'clock more or less. No means of getting to any agreement with Vicencio (the man in the Caleb Jaime who supervises fishermen's undertakings) as he says "mariscos" are scarce or impossible to "harvest" but [[strikethrough]]as[[/strikethrough]] a casualty.- The Castillo has promised for tomorrow "camarones" "locos" "caracoles de mar" & caldillo de "congrio".- I have already ordered the breakfast but should you dislike the idea of going there tomorrow please let me know with [[strikethrough]]my[[/strikethrough]] the man (my "mozo") who is delivering to you this letter if you prefer other day & I'll arrange it.-

In all case I would like to [[/strikethrough]] off[[/strikethrough]]have your breakfast with me on Saturday that is to say. the day after tomorrow as "despedida"- No special menu, but some typical Chilean meal.

Sincerely yours,
[[signed]]John Jayol[[/signed]]

So it is understood that if you don't object the idea of our breakfast at the Restaurant [[in?]] Hotel Castillo I'll be [[strikethrough]] about [[/strikethrough]] calling your Hotel [[?N.Y.]] about a quarter to twelve. [[strikethrough]][[?]][[/strikethrough]]you please wait for me.--
