Burpee's New Self-Pruning Tomato.

This is truly a novelty of great merit. It was grown by the side of Livingston's Globe for comparison, seed of both being planted in a cold frame on March 26. In about ten days the plants appeared and grew steadily, being ready to transplant on May 20. By June 10 they were blooming and on this date they were set out in the open ground. On July 27 the first ripe fruits were gathered from Self-Pruning, and the first from Livingston's Globe were gathered five days previous [[stamped across a line]]OCT 1924[[/stamped]] to this date. The plants of this new tomato are healthy, vigorous growers and were not attacked by any kind of insects nor disease. They are really "Self-Pruning". throwin gout side branches without being pinched. The tomatoes are of rather large size, smooth, solid, perfectly round and of a bright pin color. They are entirely free from hard cores. Yet very meaty. The flavor is [[underline]]very[[/underline]] agreeable
