    In March 1924 I purchased one pkt. of Burpee's Self-Pruning Tomato. Planting the seed quite late out in the garden I did not expect great results.
But to my surprise the plants grew very fast and were more vigorous and thrifty than the plants of the Stone tomato which were planted earlier.[[date stamped: Oct 20 1924]]
Self-Pruning bloomed so much earlier and while the plants were quite small and [[underline]] set fruit [[/underline]] until the [[underline]] whole [[/underline]] plant was a mass of tomatoes. At every point of the lateral branches were clusters of 3 to 4 tomatoes very smooth glob-shaped and large - no black rot as in my other varieties and not as acid.
