[[underline]] Tomato Contest [[/underline]]

     Greentop, Mo.
     Oct. 21, 1924

"Burpees New Self Pruning Tomato" was a valuable addition to my home garden. The seeds were planted the middle of May and the fruits began to ripen the first of August. Though not as early a variety as some, [[underline]] they are unequalled for a second early crop. [[/underline]]
The plants began sending out branches when quite small and continued until maturity. Each produced large numbers of tomatoes. On a single plant there were one hundred ten fruits in various stages of growth including ripe ones and blossoms at the same time. They were borne in clusters averaging from seven to ten. They continued to bear until frost.
[[underline]]The branching and self pruning habit of this tomato make it an ideal one to grow as there is no loss from decay as is true of other varieties which bear fruit near the ground.[[/underline]]
The fruits were of uniform size, shape and color. They were of medium size, globe shaped ^solid
