For Prize Contest.

Two years ago, a Burpee seedling revealed to me the beauty of the gladiolus. The seedlings possess a delicate loveliness all their own. Some are very beautiful, with delightful coloring and grace, equalling good named ones.

Gladioli grow as freely from seed as other perennials, the seeds germinate readily and begin flowering early the second summer. Thus a great variety may easily be obtained.

It is encouraging to know that the long months of waiting will be fully rewarded. Seeds purchased from another firm did not bloom so quickly nor were so pretty as Burpee's, which were nearly all desirable.
