^[[2102]] [[stamped]] AUG 21 1925 [[/stamped]] "For Prize Contest" I am a farm girl and won't to say right at the beginning that every farmer should sow tested seed. In May I sowed a package of Burpee's True Giant Ponderasa Tomato seed. When the plants were large enough I transplanted them two weeks later they were ready to plant. Dug the holes 8 and 10 inches deep filled this with manure, covered the hill with soil about 5 inches deep set the tomato plants the first June. The last June they were ready to stake. I kept them hard and pruned. The Last of July had ripe tomatoes that weighed one pound and a half. In three weeks I gathered 400 pounds. Sold them and used them at home. The tomato vines now have a lot of green tomatoes on them. I want to say that in making a success in garden growing
