For Prize Contest.

Though not a pleasant memory, I must go back five years.
Condition of health, Miserable.
Nerves at n' power.

From Burpee's catalogue, I selected nine pkts. of flower seeds, which I planted in boxes, repotting when large enough. By doing this, my plants grew sturdier and stronger, and [[underline]]I[[/underline]] was also growing stronger, happier, and less nervous, as my [[underline]]interest ever increased[[/underline]].

While watching my plants grow, I had been [[underline]]Landscape[[/underline]] planning. Along the fence, on each side of the yard, I put my Dahlias and Hollyhocks, alternately. In front of them, a bed of Foxglove. Then a twelve inch border of Portulaca. The Snapdragons, I planted on one side of the front poarch, the other side, The Shasta Daisies.

I did all the hoeing, and careing for my flowers, [[underline]]myself[[/underline]], and can say, My DAHLIAS were truly wonderful. The HOLLYHOCKS, stately, tall, and very double, rivaling my roses in beauty. The FOXGLOVE, the admiration of everyone who saw them. The SNAPDRAGONS, a perfect riot of color and flower. The PORTULACA, my little sunshine plant, a carpet of delight. The SHASTA DAISIES, Lovely.

What have Burpee's flower seed done for me? They have given me HEALTH, HAPPINESS, CONTENTMENT.
