raise flowers and vegetables; and living near the city where I could get good sale for them, I would soon be a rich man.

Presently I bought about five acres, having no money to pay for same, I was obliged to borrow it, but before the season was out I was able to pay for the land and all other expenses, and put a little in the bank. The profit continued to multiply year by year; and now I must say I owe many thanks to Burpee's which just meant the making up of me.

Now I am a retired man having made my fortune through Burpee's Seeds; but my son has decided to follow my steps.
