What Burpee's Seeds Have Done For Me.

Burpee's Seeds have grown, furnishing wholesome, nourishing food for the family, and in four years' time, transforming us from a much discouraged minister's family to self-supporting farmers, without our leaving the church or school. My husband has preached every Sunday, and we have both taught, for the seeds grow during the summer and do not interfere with the work of Sunday and school-time.

We raise radishes, onions, lettuce, carrots, parsnips, salsify, beets, Swiss chard, spinach, potatoes, peas, beans, cucumbers, squash, pumpkins, sweet corn, tomatoes, cabbage, rutabagas, Brussel's sprouts, pop-corn, [[strikethrough]]sweet[/strikethrough]] ^[[field]] corn, buckwheat, celery, sorghum, Kaffir corn, and flowers. The children can vegetables for winter. We sell all surplus.

You may remember that you kindly extended credit for our first consignment of seeds. Now that is not necessary. We own, clear of debt, 6 cows, 2 heifers, 2 calves, 2 mares, 2 colts, 2 brood sows, 8 pigs, 150 White Leghorns, 1 shepherd dog.

As I watch the miracle of life unfolding in the garden, I remember, "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall remove mountains," so I rejoice with Bobby in"helping God make a better world." This is what Burpee's seeds have done for us.
