^[[checkmark symbol]] GS/TP February 7th., 1935. Dear Parsons: The calm of Boston has, I trust, enabled you slowly to recover from the strain of these last hectic weeks in New York and I hate to bother you by writing. I believe, however, that you will be interested in some of the things I shall mention and furthermore I consider it my duty to keep you posted. [[underline]]JEAN DOMENICO TIEPOLO[[underline/]]: Drawing, from Richard Owen. As I told you at the time, this was intended for an out-of-town party to whom I sent it on approval, and yesterday it was returned with a short note telling me that our customer was away and would not, probably, return until the end of March. Though it is a small matter I would like to keep it, if you think that Owen will not mind. [[underline]]ROMNEY, MAN PORTRAIT[[underline/]]: You will recall that you thought that our man portrait - in view of its quality - might be acquired by your museum should [[strikethrough]]you[[/strikethrough]] ^[[we]] be willing to take in part payment the 40 x 50 Romney portrait which you have in Kansas City. Not being able to find it in our Romney book, I wrote to Paul Gardner and just heard from him. So far, in spite of the information he gives me, I have been unable to find any record of it. [[underline]]ECCLES COLLECTION[[underline/]]: The majority of the paintings have arrived and some of them I must say, look even nicer than in Flushing, but some, on the other hand, look less attractive and a few in my opinion, are a problem. Such are - Sargent's Mrs. Mosenthal Sargent's "Sailor" Whistler - pastel, "Miss Leland" " [[ditto for Whistler]] "Portrait of a Lady" " [[ditto for Whistler]] "Breton Market" Wyant - English landscape " [[ditto for Wyant]] American landscape I am sending you by same mail the photographs of the Whistler portrait, the Sargent "Sailor" and also the Whistler pastel. As you suggested that with the documents available in Boston you might be able to ascertain whether they are what they are supposed to represent, you will not mind, I trust, receiving these copies. In spite of my persistency, I have been unable to obtain further data - pedigree, etc. - from Dr. Eccles, who, by the way, I am sorry to say, seems suddenly in worse condition. t.s.v.p...............
