when Gardner is informed of the procedure to be adopted. I do not know what their point of view is;but they had some difficulty once over an insurance question on a loan to an exhibition;so I imagine that they wish to guard against a repetition. No doubt the matter will be settled satisfactorily when Gardner receives Mr.Waegand's information. If not,we can take the matter up with Mr.Nichols. I think he will be in New York about the 18th. He has been in hospital for a fortnight with flu,but wrote me a few days ago that he expects to make his Eastern trip this month without fail.

If the next meeting of the Honorary Advisory Committee of the "Masterpieces" is to take place about the 20th,I shall certainly remain in New York for it. The list I have received seems to indicate that the exhibition will be a very important and enjoyable one.

With kindest regards,

Sincerely yours,
