Elfen (if that is his name) of D.R. was here to hang the show, and told me that, aside from Robinson, he finds no real interest among the Hollywood Movie Colony, and thinks one will have to rely on the old citizens, But Bear does not seem to have succeeded in getting much from the people here in Santa Barbara. 

I shall not go to San Francisco on this trip; and I did not suggest our trying to meet here, as my time is so short and I shall be making visits. But I will see and hear what I can, and arrange anything I can of mutual interest. But California, aside from Poland, seems to be always in the artistic doldrums. 

I'll drop you a line as I go along; and plan to be back in New York the middle of October, to arrange the Omaha show, a line to 930 Fifth Ave. will always be forwarded.
