AFFILIATED WITH NATIONAL HOTELS

OKLAHOMA CITY

October 3, 1941

Dear Germain:

Apparently nothing to be accomplished here at present;but I stopped to make another contact. Shall spend a few days in K.C.;then two or three in Omaha, and motor back slowly via Chicago,Cleveland,Pittsburg where I want to see the contemporary art exhibition, and plan to be back by the 20th. Mr.Nichols is just returning from Hawaii, where he went to see his son,who is returning with him. The enclosed would seem to indicate that he is still not popular with the unions of the building trades in K.C.!

Mr.Martin of Omaha, who is on the selections committee with Grummann and me,and,of course a Trustee of the Joslyn Memorial, will be in New York the week of the 12th-20th,and I have written him to call on you to see the portrait, and other things which you have. The photograph of the portrait is at the Joslyn Memorial. I have told him that this is my selection to represent the German school in our first group of purchases.
