Talked with him about the country & decided to go to his place - Kennedy P.O. in Clark Co., about 40 miles S. of Valentine, Neb. Rode all day through the sand hills, saw a few ponds & some wooded ravines, killed a Prairie Dog. [[circled in blue pencil]] " [[Ditto for: June]] 10. Sunday. Helped organize a Sunday school. Got up early, loaded up & started to work, set out a lot of traps, caught one A. austerus, got a Chicetodypus - flavus, & an Onychomys from an old well, killed some birds, killed two Skunks that came out from under the house, & on the whole consider it a good days work for the first, Prepared all of the specimens & a Prairie Dog caught yesterday. Hope to get a Dipodomys tomorrow.
