June 15. Went to W. Clarks place, 10 miles south of Valentine. Set some traps & watched for bats all of the twilight.

" [[ditto for: June]] 16. Went to traps & hunted in forenoon Caught a Mountain Rat & four young. set some more traps, killed some birds.
Stuffed rat & huntd in afternoon & watched for bats in evening.

" [[ditto for: June]] 18. Warmer, 98[[degree symbol]]; clear, windy.
Caught 2 Pocket Gophers, 1 Spermophile obsoletus & a B. lineatus.
Set traps over, & hunted.
Got the first mail since leaving Valentine.

Went to traps & skinned two gophers in
