Left Buffalo Gap at 5:44 P.M. & got into Chadron at about 8. There had been a heavy rain at Chadron & the streets were like a river, water about a foot deep on a level. Near Custer oats were not headed out & potatos hardly in blossom; at Chadron they were harvesting oats, wheat & barley, & corn was tasseled out, any farms near Chadron
