Aug.  , Came back at 9:30 A.M. wrote & worked at some sketches till noon.
After noon worked all the time skinning things till 7 oclock, sketched & wrote in evening till 9.
Havent got all the things skinned yet.
A cool cloudy day. some rain

" [[ditto for: Aug.]] 15. Worked at the specimens till 11 A.M. then went to my traps, Got a Mink & a T. talpoides & some Hesperomys.
In P.M. went up the canyon for mile or two into the Mts. Killed 3 Spizella arenecea & some other birds, & one Tamias lateralis & a Lepus campestris. Rained part of the time & was poor time to hunt. Rained most all of forenoon but I had plenty of work to do.

" [[ditto for: Aug.]] 16, Worked at the specimens from 6 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. except an hour that I hunted and went after my traps. Begun my report at 5 P.M. & finish 6 pages of it.
