Nov. 12 Caught 4 Perognathus & a [[underlined]] Dipodomys [[/underlined]] & a Thomomys. A Wild Cat ate some things out of my traps & something else ate another Perognathus.
Shot to Spermophilus tereticaudus & saw a lot more.
Saw 8, or more, big Mexican Jack Rabbits.
In evening set the traps over & shot a Perognathus that I faked out of a hole.
A warm clear day.

" [[ditto for: Nov.]] 13 Went to traps before breakfast & found a Neotoma & Hesperomys & a Dipodomys & 5 Perognathus.
After breakfast skinned all of these but 2 of the Perognathus before the train arrived at 10 oclock.
Left Ortiz at 10 A.M. for Nogales. Saw a few Spermophilus tereticaudus, & saw lots of Jack Rabbits all along the road. Reached Carbo at dark. There are large fields of grain & Sugarcane in the middle of the valley east of Ortiz, but not much farming near the R.R. anywhere before reaching Hermosillo.
50 [[degree symbol]] (F) at sunrise. 90 [[degree symbol]] at noon at Hermosillo.
