Dec. 3 Caught 3 Dipodops & a Geomys & a Hesperomys l. sonoriensis. Reset & baited the traps, will try one night more to catch Perognathus.
In P.M. went out among the mesquit brush E. of town. Found a few birds & killed a Thyrothorus, found holes & tracks of the big Dipodomys & some little Perognathus holes. Saw lots of Rabbits of both kinds. Saw a Coyote in morning, but not near enough for a shot.
Warm in morning & warm all day.
Saw 3 lizzards & shot one.

" [[ditto for Dec.]] 4 Caught a Geomys & 2 Dipodops. Took up traps & in P.M. set them out on higher grounds east of town. Shot a Spermophilus spilosoma. Have had 33 traps set for a week & have not lost one.
Tried remodeling some cyclone traps so as to catch Perognathus. They are afraid of traps & dont care for bait.
A warm day & cloudy.
