Feb. 4 Caught a Neotoma & an Ochetodon & 2 Hesperomes, Got 2 Bats, at an old house in town. Killed some birds. 
Put up specimen in evening, worked late & forgot to write in journal, so do it tonight - the 5th.

" [[ditto for: Feb.]] 5 Took a lunch & went down the creek on east side to the Rio Grande & down the river aways. It is rocky along the river about 3 miles from town, & pecan trees grow along the flats. There were more birds down there than I have found before, but no sign of squirrels.
Found Pocket Gopher hills on sandy ground near the Rio & set traps for what may be Arvicolas. The Hackberry trees are loaded with Misletoe which has great quantities of berries on.
Caught 2 species of frogs, shot a Teal duck but could'nt get it without swimming & did not swim.
Caught a Spermophile & an Neotoma & a Hesperomys & a Sigmodon. Killed lots of birds. In evening caught 9 Bats as they came out of a hole in an old hous
Put up skins in evening, worked late & did not get all done. Cloudy morning. Warm day.
