Mr. James O'Toole
% Jacques Seligmann & Co.
3 East 51 Street,
New York City.

Dear Mr. O'Toole:

I had a great time closing up the Cezanne, what with the husband arriving and leaving town again and his very uncooperative attitude. However now they are delighted (as they should be ^[[!]]) and perhaps we can make up on a later sale the concessions we has to make this time. In any event the competitors are no longer so firmly intrenched in that quarter.

I had everything nailed up for shipment yesterday when I left for luncheon at Mrs. Patterson's, just in the nick was able to call off the expressman because she decided she would like to see and consider the Seurats. She has one Seurat drawing she bought of Johnsons for eighteen hundred ; large black view of a woman in very full skirts leaning forward. About same in quality as the other two they have. She is considering the ^[["]]Painter^[["]] for opposite wall. I am asked to give her until Monday, for final decision.

The Redon and Cezanne Peaches were shipped today by prepaid express, case marked $500. I held out the Ingres on a chance that Mrs. Patterson might be interested also. Will wire you news of all when I have it.

I have endorced the check for the Cezanne to the firm. The commission will take care of the two hundred dollars owing you for the Max Jacob. If for any bookkeeping reasons you prefer to exchange checks for the two hundred difference le^[[t]] me know, otherwise things can stand as they are.

I hope I may yet place the Seurats. My thanks and good wishes to you and Mr. Seligmann.

Sincerely,
^[[Alice Roullier]]

P. S. Please send me as soon as possible names of artist drawings an^[[d]] watercolorswhich you have at small or popular prices. We talked about that when you were here.
