Dear Mr. Seligman,

I presume that you are back in New York now, and am sending you photographs of a marble sculpture which we could acquire recently. I thought that it might interest you. It is of quite extraordinary quality and represents probably a Nikodemus from a Deposition or Lamentation group. The ornaments have once been gilt, and there are still traces of this visible. It is obviously a French work of the middle of the 15th century.
The height is 50 cm and the price DM 35.000,-. In case this figure does not interest you, I should be grateful if you would return the photographs.

With kindest regards,

Yours very sincerely,
