Aug. 15, Dutcher got 3 Neotomas & he & Streator hunted birds & made up skins all day. I wrote all day on my report.
Rained hard in P.M. which bothered us a good deal. We are trying to get ready to move camp tomorrow morning over onto Lemhi Creek.

" [[Ditto for: Aug.]] 16 Took up traps, packed up, sent six boxes of specimens by mail, & at 8 A.M started for Lehmi Valley.
Went past Nicholia, took the upper, or east, road over the hills.
Crossed the divide at [[insertion]] 22.15 in. [[/insertion]] 7600 feet.
Then down hill, soon reached the creek & followed down it to 4 miles of function & camped by the creek. Came 40 miles camped before dark. Not much feed.
A little difference in plants noticed on crossing the divide. Lupines & Castileas are in blossom & more numerous than on the other side.
General features of the country about like the valley of Birch Creek.

" [[Ditto for: Aug.]] 17 Sunday. staid in camp, caught trout & eat 24 for our dinner. Saw a Bear track by the creek.
