they call Arc Dome & other high peaks around. It may be the same as is given on the map as Boston Peak. It is about east of the Junction of Indian & Reese R,. & 10 miles or so distant.
The mountains are covered over their base with Cedar & Pinus monophylla & Circocarpus ledifolius, Artimesia tridentata, Ephedra, Symphoricarpus, & scrubby Amalanchar Sarcobatus, Atriplex, [[strikethrough]] Ephedra [[/strikethrough]] Erotia lanata, stop with the valley at our last camp.
Tetradymia comes up in the valley but is not on the hills.
The place where we are now camped is at a spring in a side caƱon on the west side of Indian Creek about half way between the two ranches on the creek -
After camping, I put up the skins of this mornings catch, 5 of them. Then wrote on bird report till the sun got low & it grew too cold to sit & write. Then I went out & set 27 traps before dark, mostly for Chilotus & some kind of Arvicola. There are Chilotus runways all over the north slopes of the hills. They still show a love for shade & north slopes. Found runways through the rosebushes & willows by the spring where I think Arvicolas live. Henry set Neotoma traps & hunted.
A warm day, cold nights.
