He went up through Lone Pine Creek gap to base of the Sierras to lower edge of Pinus monophylla. He found it at 1300 feet above town, by the anneroid.

I can not get any altitudes from him till long after he had done the work & has worked up his notes. Am awfully in need of the barometer. Got a few plants & a big cactus.
+25[[degree symbol]] in morning, cloudy & raw. Snowed on top of Sierras most of the day. got up to 45[[degree symbol]] at 3 P.M.

Henry went home today.

[[underlined]] Dec. 18. Caught [[/underlined]] 1 Thomomys, 1 Neosorex, 1 Ochetodon, some Hesperomes Californicus & H. eremicus & H sonoriensis, & a Dipodops.  Took up my traps. Have two days work on hand now & things are spoiling.
Killed a Lepus texianus.

Worked at skins all of P.M. & in evening,
Nelson took up his traps so as to catch up with the skinning & to set out our traps on new lines again.

Cloudy & chilly all day, looks some like storming.

Dikeman found Pinus monophylla at 3100 feet on west slope of Largo Mts.
