The coldest morning of the season so far. +15 [[degree symbol]] at 7 A.M. Clear but cold all day. Heavy frost laid in the cañons all day & it is cold in evening.
Nelson went to his traps on west side of the valley, caught a lot of Hesperomes sonoriensis, 1 H. californicus, 1 Sorex. Reset his traps in cañon & along foot
+20[[degree symbol]] at bed time.
[[underlined]] Dec. 25. [[/underlined]] Went to traps up cañon of Inyo Mts. Got Hesperomes sonoriensis & eremicus & a Neotoma. Took up traps & set more along side of valley & in brush along river. Found a big Neotoma house in rose brush on bank of creek just below camp.
Nelson came back after dark & brought a Neosorex from foot of Sierras & a lot of other specimens.
A cold morning, +23[[degree symbol]] at daylight. but not so cold as last evening.
Some clouds - chilly & disagreeable
