The wind storm is over at last - The wind went down about an hour before sunrise & a mild breeze came up from the south a little after sunrise. It has blown hard & almost constantly from the north for several days. The coldest morning we have seen in the valley - 25[[degree symbol]] at camp at sunrise. At the same time it was 31[[degree symbol]] up on the side hill 75 feet above & 200 yards from camp. A clear & very pleasant day.

[[underlined]] Jan. 11, [[/underlined]] The coldest morning we have seen in the valley yet - +19[[degree symbol]] at 7 A.M. A still night but the wind came up & howled from the north in P.M.
Moved camp down to P.O. Springs in P.M. so to get an early start as far on the road as possible tomorrow for Lone Willow. The water at P.O. Spring is not very good: tastes of soda & is said to be poison.
There is some salt grass of a poor quality around the spring. We have to depend mostly on grain, are feeding 50 pounds of corn a day to 6 horses. Dikeman & Nelson went to Panamint for the mail. It is Sunday.
