[[underlined]] Sep. 17 [[/underlined]] Caught a Mephitis & 2 Perognathes & a Neotoma & some Hesperomes.
Dr. Fisher got 2 Perognathes & a Coon. Packed up & started at 9 A.M. for Visalia & reached there at sundown, camped a mile out of town to get things ready for breaking up camp life.
The peaks of the Sierra Nevada are shiny white down to timberline.
Warm in the valley.

[[underlined]] Sep. 18 [[/underlined]] Dont know what I did do, but kept so busy I did not have time to write. Dr. Fisher & Nelson left for San Francisco.
[[underlined]] Sep. 19 [[/underlined]] Got rid of our extra stuff & sent off a lot of specimens & Palmer left on the 5 P.M. train. I got things ready for a start in the morning for Fresno.

[[underlined]] Sep. 20 [[/underlined]] Went to Fresno and staid at a hotel the rest of day.

[[underlined]] Sep. 21 [[/underlined]] Compared my mercurial barometer with that of the Signal officer, then packed & shipped it back to Keeler. Got a tram to take me out into the country to find a place to stay & trap for Perognothus, could not find any very good place for Perognothus except on a hill near town, so came back to the hotel & stayed.
