[[underlined]] Sep. 29 [[/underlined]] Got my truck & chest as soon as I could. Found the specimens in the chest all shook loose & badly jammed.
Fixed them down as well as possible. Took a bag of traps and tramped around in the woods & along the beach. Set 71 traps, Found lots of good places for something Hesperomys or Arvicola I dont know which.
Thomomys is abundant. Found some Neotoma houses, Caught a Lepus trowbridgi in a Neotoma trap. Saw a Lepus californicus Saw Coon & Lynx tracks.
A cool day with considerable wind. The waves rolled in big & white capped & threw lots of strange plants up on shore.
There was a regular storm of sand along the beach where it is sandy.
Caught a Eumeces & a little Scoliforis & a little Hyler. Made up the Rabbit skin in evening and put in about 12 species of plants.

[[underlined]] Sep. 30 [[/underlined]] Caught 19 Arvicolas, 14 Hesperomes or 2 or 3 species, 6 Ochetodons, 3 Sorex of 2 species, 3 Thomomys & 2 Neotomas.
Some were damaged but I saved 37 of them
Skinned them all & made up 3 in P.M.
Reset the traps an set some more for Coons & Cats.
