To answer some of your questions. The pair of Paters in the Sheffield sale were very good, but they were bought by a private man so there is no chance of getting them.  Other pictures all fetched very high prices - really too high for dealers.
 
Re Italian pictures - we own a very fine head & shoulder Titian portrait of his friend Naragero. This portrait in is New York in the hands of Mrs. Richter, widow

Not sure at all if that is Paters or something else referred to in the first full sentence on the page. Later transcriber: using Germain's original query, verified that the word is indeed "Paters".
