The war insurance rate is enormous & if the picture is not sold one has to pay it twice over.  There are also endless tiresome technicalities. So I should be glad if you could use some of the pictures I have mentioned which are already on your side.

Though I had not seen him for very many years I was very sorry to hear of the death of our mutual friend Hans. 

What news have you of your brother Serge in Paris?  Did he get away?
