P/MH

Paris, January 24th 1938

Dear Sir,

We thank you for your letter of January 21st, addressed to M. Georges Seligmann.

Will you be kind enough, on receipt of these lines, to send the Bronzino picture to :

Messrs Hirshbach & Smith
44 Whitehall street,
New York

for:

MM. Jacques Seligmann & Co Inc.,
3 East 51rst Street,
New York.

if possible by s/s Normandie sailing January 29th, from Le Havre.

We beg to draw your attention to the fact that since several months, in order to avoid the freight tax ad valorem, we send all pictures unsold to New York by the French Line from Le Havre, declared as shipped to New York for exhibition purposes. You could, in doing the same thing, obtain the same advantages as we do ourselves. It is necessary to make a declaration to the French line.

Thanking you in advance,
Yours sincerely,

Colin Agnew esq.,
43 Old Bond street,
