During January the work of reshelving and repainting exhibition cases and rearranging mounted specimens has continued. One of the old cases standing in the middle of the bird was removed, four unit tables, supporting square uprights being placed where it stood - thus greatly improving the lighting of that portion of the hall.

[[underlined]] Work of Assistants [[/underlined]]

The Assistant Curator contained his work on the report upon Mr. H.V. Henson's collection of birds from Northern Japan.

Mr. J.M. Noah was absent during the month with the exception of the two last days, on account of sickness in his family.
