[[underlined]]Special work accomplished.[[/underlined]]

Special work done during February consisted chiefly in arranging the Old World faunal exhibit, which occupies the two cases in the southwest corner of the middle portion of the bird hall; in cleaning and putting in order and rearranging specimens in the West basement — a matter which of itself required six entire days work with the help of assistants; in labelling and hanging a series of colored plates representing excessively rare North American species[[strikethrough]],[[/strikethrough]] which, in most cases, could not be represented by specimens; and in attending to numerous details connected with the exhibition and study series of specimens — including the rearrangement of a considerable part of the study series of North American birds.
