[[underlined]]U. S. Fish Commission[[/underlined]](through Col M. McDonald, Commissioner). - 456 specimens, about 112 species, from Santa Lucia, W. I., Straits of Magellan, Abrolhos Island, and Galapagos.  A very valuable accession, especially as regards the collection made at the Galapagos islands, several of which not previously visited by naturalists being represented.  Among the birds which may be specially mentioned are the rare Swallow-tailed Gull ([[underlined]]Creagrus furcatus[[/underlined]]) of which two fine adults were collected at Dalrymple rock, these being, respectively, the fourth and fifth specimens known to naturalists.
