I succeeded to obtain several teams of dogs. At Oudikoï dogs are very scarce.

Our officers have been kindly received by Admiral Turnhelm the new Governor at Nikolaewsk, to whom I gave them letters, and they have traveled in the Amour in a steamer loaned to them by the telegraph administration.

The day of my arrival at Okhotsk from Ghijiga and except the instructions, which I had sent to Mahood via Yakoutsk. I ordered a Kosak and several Tungazis, with rein-deer, to proceed to Ajan; by the direct route, and report to Capt Mahood; I expect him and party every moment.

I have the intention, as soon as I am joined by the party expected, to leave them at Okhotsk and to start myself for Ghijiga and the Anadyr.

If all goes according to my expectations, I will be back in Ghijiga in the beginning of May. Vessels with supplies and funds, which I expect with the greatest impatience, will have to report at Ghijiga and I have written to the Engineer in Chief, requesting him to make this place his first port after Petropavlowsky.
